If this has the blessing of the keeper of the holy scrolls, I thought it might be fun if we reinforced our position on the European footballing stage by singing a song about Siggie in French!
To the tune of Blue Moon (as in Peru and Were going to win 7-6), it goes like this :
Siggie, il ny a que lui Siggie .
For those of you horrible herberts who werent paying attention in the back row of the French class, its pronounced sort of like this :
Siggie, eel (as in fish) knee (as in leg) are (as in we are) cur (as in dog) louis (as in Armstrong) = eel knee are cur louis.
It means Siggie, hes the one and only Siggie
Im quite prepared to make a tit of myself singing it at Staines next Saturday perhaps a couple of times in English to warm up, then a burst in French
Theres no reference to lard in it, the French word for which is saindoux, and youre a better (wo)man than me if you can write a song around that.
