Now I am quite angry at the moment. Some People may not like the contents of this post. To be honest I don't really care. Some others may love the post and felt it long overdue in coming. Some may even want the post deleted and if it is deleted then that really would be a sorry state of affairs. No doubt others will be demanding to know who the poster is.
I think that John Maggs has become an almost god like figure at QS this season and rightly so. This post is in no way a slur against John and I need to make that clear from the outset. If anything this post makes the achievements of John Maggs & Co look even more spectacular.
However, I would like the following questions answered:
Why have so many players left or are not signing new contracts?
Why are no players being brought in to replace the departed?
Who has spunked the cup run money, the Carl Rook money & the money from the sale of QS?
There has been much ridddicule and debate about Tommy Warrilow & Carl Rook on this forum recently. Do we think that they are ever going to reveal the real facts about why they left Horsham FC? I don't think that they will. What I do know is that both of those two people are two honest individuals who have worked their nuts off for HFC and deserve alot better than what they have been tarnished with on this forum. I actually feel that Rook's comment about 'nice little family club' meant that the club did not match with his ambitions. There is nothing wrong with ambition.
If we are an ambitious club destined for Conference South (as I believe we should be THIS season) then do you not think that both Lewis Taylor and Jacob Mingle would not have signed their contracts some weeks ago?
Why is it taking such a long time to find replacement players? Could it be that John Magg's is not being given extra funds to rebuild? Answer 'Yes'
There was a poster on here called Secret a few weeks back and he remarked and I quote 'has JM taken the club as far as he can now?' - If JM is not being given the extra funds to rebuild then the answer to that question is a resounding 'Yes'. It's out of John's hands.
How will we retain the additional support which we have recently generated as a result of the great cup run? The only way that the support will be maintatined is by getting success on the field. Will success on the field be gained by the ways which we have seen demonstrated above? Answer 'No'
If Lewis or Jacob do not pen new deals soon then HFC will be in a position whereby it struggles to field 11 players! How sad is that for a club that made the 2nd round of the FA Cup this year?
The talk of going to Crawley Town for two seasons is encouraging news.It certainly beats the option of travelling to Molesey. However, is this the reason that we are unable to spend any money or strengthen the squad at all? Is this the reason that we can't keep hold onto players or sign any new ones? If this is the case then that really is quite concerning. Surely, the rent can't be that much for two season's over at Crawley?
Is no one else concerned about the drawn up plans for the new ground? To me it appears to be of County League standard at best and is just another example of a lack of ambition at the club.Do you really think that ground will attract player's of the required calibre. Answer 'No'.
It's not too late for this season and who knows if any of the 'missing' money does resurface then perhaps HFC could still push on for promotion this season.
John Maggs you deserve a f*c**ng medal.
