An article on our campaign featured on the front page of The Resident (new free paper in the H'sham) this week. It reminds me of the stories of Alf Tupper (Tough of the Track) from the Victor annual I used to read as a kid. I wonder if this Alf was any inspiration for the character. Blimey, there's some memories there - Cadman, Alf and wasn't there a really stange bendy bloke who could get through pipes etc? Who's that handsome chap....up there...to the left? Yep, its Boris Johnson!

I'm in Dundee meeting with DC Thomson on my second book week after next. Are you sure he was in the Victor, I didn't see a character while researching the Football Book. I had access to the complete DCT, IPC and Egmont archives. By the way as good as Alf was, Pickford the Goalmaker was the man. It sent a shiver down my spine when I opened the the 1962 Victor files. Original storyline.

Everyone was saying it was this comic or that one but I always knew it was the Victor because that was the only one I was allowed as a kid (and even then they were hand-me-downs). It was definitely Janus Stark but I'm bluddy sure he was in the Victor. I have a terrible memory so I just hope you can be bothered to check in some of the annuals at some stage because I am sure that I used to see him in the Victor.
