It took the Hornets 45 minutes to weigh up the opposition before tearing them apart in the second half. Four unanswered goals keep us in second spot after victories for Eastbourne Town over Lancing and Newhaven winning at Loxwood, meanwhile our landlords suffered a second away defeat in a row at Chichester.

Going back to our victory, Terry Dodd deservedly took the MOM award for two goals while new boys Luke Hugget and Jack Rowe Hurst both scored excellent goals soon after coming on as second half subs. Many players could have secured the MOM, I was very impressed with our other new boy Graham Martin on his debut, he showed plenty of nice touches in his defensive midfield role which gave Joe Shelley freedom to play in his more forward role in what can best be described as his best game for some time!!

Pagham will feel the score line flattered us a bit, they are a tough unit to break down but didn't offer too much once we had scored, Scott Murfin should have put them ahead in the first half but chose to hit the post instead, top scorer Dan Simmonds was well marshaled by our hard working defence, when called upon, Gareth also looked sound, so all in all another confident, assured team performance that hopefully will see us top of the pile after next Saturdays game against Hassocks, I am hoping the coaching staff can find a way to breach a team who will be looking to hit us early on then park the bus like they did in the first game of the season! Have to say our squad now looks a lot stronger in depth than it has at any time this season which augers well for the second half of the campaign.
