Apart from a few passing nods, the last time I saw Mick to talk to properly was a few years ago after the wonderful oration he gave at Geoff Crowther's funeral. He reminisced about a Horsham pre-season tour to Holland (or was it Belgium?), the three letters he had from Bill Nicholson trying to persuade him to give up his day job and take a pay cut to join Spurs (this was in the days of the maximum wage), and cricketing encounters back in the seventies - I was sure I bowled him out a few times; he disputed this!

I didn't really know him at all well, but he always seemed to have time for people who wanted to talk to him. As EFIG says, a local hero. Deepest sympathy to all his family.
