"I don't think I have ever criticised a player on this forum, but it came close when I got home last night. How he makes the team week after week is a complete mystery. Caught out of position time after time and he needs to practice kicking a football ( a basic skill for a player, I would have thought) - every kick sliced or scuffed. I fear, though that he may be around for a while - rant over, we took all three points "

I have been guilty of naming players before but like you I try not to be so obvious with my highlights, having said that I totally agree with you on your observations, no need to name and shame I think anyone who was at the game last night knows exactly who you are referring to, it's amazing that the people on the bench don't see it as well. ( The type of passing you are referring to would be better suited to a rugby field, I don't remember how many Gary Owens there were as there were too many to count!!!)

As far as the game goes it reminded me of a boxing match, the local men took control in the early stages but failed to take advantage of their superior skills, were then hit with a sucker punch just before the end of the half way stage but somehow managed to hit back with a hopeful long range shot that gave the home men the slight advantage on points at the halfway mark.
After some strong words at the break a quick response from the visiting men saw them take the advantage and apart from the odd nail biting moment finishing far stronger and deservedly won the fight on a narrow points decision.

I hope they escape relegation as we look forward to getting three points at their place each year plus their supporters deserve something for their loyal support, they gave their team ninety minutes of non stop backing. The genuine show of loyalty to their team, who are struggling near the bottom of the table is in stark contrast to the foul mouthed lot from Tonbridge who only show their loyalty when they are winning.
