Yes it was a great performance tonight, (for the General Claude was sidelined with the flu) due to the referee being such an ar==hole the club will now have to pay another fine of £2000 for all the bookings + Alex being red carded.
I am fairly certain at least two of the bookings were for dissent which I thought was being kept under control recently, mind you the ref was only interested in booking anyone in green & yellow, even the penalty was a pretty tame decision, Josh Pelling made a brilliant save low to his right even though the penalty taker stopped in his run up before hitting it.

The boys had brilliant games, both scoring goals resulting in the acrobatic's from Tony after he scored, Adam Hutchings scored an excellent goal from Tony's cross, when Alex Haddow scored with another ball in from the right the game looked dead & buried, we of course tried to keep things fairly open conceding the penalty just before half time.
It was no surprise when Ashford scored, we hadn't really started to play the second half when it happened, even then Pelling complained to the referee saying the whole ball hadn't crossed the line. You felt that if Ashford had scored again fairly quickly then we might have struggled to hold on to the lead, instead the lads rallied & scored a fourth after good work down the left by Haddow he laid the ball back to Pat Harding whose first effort was partially saved but Harding reacted quickest knocking the ball into the net to regain the three goal cushion. With Alex Haddow being shown red from another poor decision the final whistle couldn't come quick enough, the lads managed to retain their composure until the final whistle.

Tony gave the leftback a torrid time all evening, was hacked down several times & although being awarded free kicks the player was not even spoken to by the inept ref.
Ben Andrews played up front tonight & won every ball in the air but I for one would prefer to see him in the centre of the defence, Jack Page had one of his better games tonight & gave young Tony plenty of options, summing up I was very disappointed with the Ashford performance, for a team that had been unbeaten for 12 games I thought they were really poor & never looked likely to break the loosing sequence in Horsham.
Top marks for Josh Pelling, he made several brilliant saves but looked a little undecided as to whether to come off his line when confronted with a one on one, the scoreline suggests he got it right, those present might have differing views!
