Not a clever move under the circumstances and one that must be avoided this time round. To be fair, that was very much a reaction to leaflets and statements mocking Horsham Football Club fans. Branded Yobs, urinating in gardens and generally not wanted in the area. Statements like that where people are stereotyped and branded is akin to some sort of 'ism. Spreading leaflets like that was, in my opinion, not very clever either. The majority of HFC fans vent their frustrations with humour.

everhopeful wrote:My honest opinion is while the current board of Directors still believe everything is going fine, then a successful outcome of the planning application is in jeopardy, as is the continuation of the club. Having re-read this now several times, I too don't understand this. Please can you explain this comment?

So, can I try to summarise your concerns...1. You don't think the board are capable of handling the future of HFC.2. Both planning applications need to be approved by HDC.Well, I'm not quite sure where you have appeared from but I'm sure that if you are able to offer assistance to the board they will welcome anything you can give. All board members are part timers and give an enormous amount freely. Any contribution you can make would be greatly appreciated. As for the second point, it is obvious isn't it? We've already had one application thrown out for being badly put together and we would be stupid to do it again.Hopefully, you will be able to continue this dialogue with the directors and provide the help you have suggested is on offer.

That is of course unless the cloak and dagger stuff forbids you from doing so!

Preconcieved ideas about football formed from TV images and Tabloid sensationalism will need to be addressed, everyone who is connected with HFC knows that non league football is a completely different experience to that of professional football, but we need to find a way of helping these people to understand this.Having clarified a few things with Everhopeful i welcome any assistance that you may be able to give to the club.
