Can Someone please explain something...? |

|
Why do players seem to be going from our league to county league? Is this purely for the money? Or, am i just missing something? I just don't understand
the reasoning... My sources before told me that certain players were considering moves to county league, but i dismissed it as i thought that the players (and
one specifically) in question had a certain amount of loyalty to the club and, overall, were happy playing for us. But now it seems that it was in fact true...

Who are you talking Joe ?
And - yes, it will purely be for money. |

Like everywhere in life people are different and have different aspirations and values. Some players will play where they can earn the most money; some will
play at the highest level they can; others play for a club for which they have a particular tie; and others for favoured managers or coaches.
I think we are very fortunate to have a group of players who, by and large, want to play for Horsham FC.

It's a bit worrying that Lee apparently considered an offer from Three Bridges - thankfully he saw the light...

"Like everywhere in life people are different and have different aspirations and values."
And, I assume, those aspiration change through the career; while a 20 year-old might be happy to sit on the bench waiting for his chance at a club higher up the pyramid, a 30 year old might just want a game.
All in the game yo, all in the game.

...and might be interested in earning reasonable money with less travelling and fewer midweek games. By the way, was it 3B who made the offer Darren Budd couldn't refuse?

Blimey! Who on earth is stumping up money to enable county league clubs to compete financially like this when, 3B excepted, they get two figure crowds. No
income, no public for the advertisers, just an expensive hobby I suppose. The danger is of course that it can be a case of here today gone tomorrow.

Hemel is right. It won't last long when their benefactor gets bored of throwing money away for little gain.

Many reasons must come into the equasion for a player but somewhere on the list of considerations must be........ where...........Whitehawk?
Has he ever been there? I don't care how much they offered, I wouldn't play there. Who's that handsome chap....up there...to the left? Yep, its Boris Johnson! |

So, all in all, are we saying that the so-called 'Credit-Crunch' has helped The County League? lol.
And, FYI General, I'd love to play for Whitehawk: I happen to be a fan of burnt out Ford Escorts. I like teens armed with cider too... Edited to say: that last one is probably because i am still one of said teens myself!!!! LOOOOOOL!!!

Blimey, you kids make me feel old.
I used to drink cider when I was 16 because it was the only thing we could buy at the offi. A 2ltr bottle of something appley for the bus, a bit of a dance at the disco and then a quick fumble with Trixy on the way home. Those were the days... The funny thing is that nothing is new. Who's that handsome chap....up there...to the left? Yep, its Boris Johnson! |

Ah, the 2ltr bottle of cider (spiced up with that little extra something though) Oh happy days. Everybody had to have one.

Of course though, i'm now a legal person drinking the cider. AND... it is normally Lager. But, in essence, it's the same.
And, Shetland-boy, I've heard of Madness and MJ (I even own a Suggs Album, may i say!?), but the others.... WHO? lol |
