I thought that was the final figure we paid Lewes for Lee but by all accounts they originally were asking for 10K!!
I remember that night when the deal was done, wasn't it a HISC AGM when Frank got the call from John then asked if HISC could put in some funding to help buy him right at the end of the meeting?

I had to laugh that the story on th official website was dated the 6th June and it said that nothing would be decided until John got back from his holiday at the end of the month.

A whole month for a holiday - does he not know there is a recession on??!!

Well, firstly lets hope that Sam stays.

But if he was to go - then I would hope to god we don't do any favours. He is our captain, and the only player deemed worthy enough to be given a contract, and we don't want to get rid. Seeing as Lee Farrell was valued at £2,500 by a team (??) who no longer wanted his services, I would want a great deal more than that.

I was under the impression that Sam's Dad had said unless he got contact from a Championship or above side that he'd remain running the family business and play locally non-league, I know the Daggers are rubbish but they are not flying that high either.

I see on HR that a league club may be interested in Sam Page. It would be a great shame to see him move on - he's been solid for us and a great influence on the team. On the other hand it would be a great opportunity for him and I think we would all wish him the best of luck, wherever he goes. Also a great recommendation for HFC if we allow players to develop their careers.

I presume he is under a contract and so the club would get some sort of compensation for him, which would...
